Tuntematon Maa

I thought I should make a post and say "Hi" since I'm making my first visit to Finland to do a couple of shows and, possibly, some introductory shibari classes at Turkkusex.

I have no idea if anyone in Finland has ever heard of me, so here's a quick bio. I first became interested in Japanese bondage about 10 years ago. Since then I have been very active in the scene, performing at events worldwide and teaching regular classes. I am also co-organiser of the London Festival of the Art of Japanese Bondage (LFAJB) and co-host of ForumBondage. I have been fortunate to have had tuition from Arisue Go, Osada Steve and Hajime Kinoko, so my style is reasonably authentic. If you want to know more, my site is http://www.esinem.com

I'll be performing with Maleficent Martini who is the singer for Maleficent and a very skilled ballerina. We'll be developing the show that has been a big hit at LFARB and at Torture Garden internationally.

If there is sufficient interest and language is not a barrier (sorry, I don't speak Finnish. If anyone can translate this post and cross-post or add the translation I'd be delighted), I'll also be running some classes at Turkkusex and might also be available for private tuition or small groups as I might stay on a few days after the event.

It is great to have your kind of professionals here. Do not worry about translation, as most Finns speak English quite well, those who don't, will understand most or request translation if needed. I am sure your shows will be appropriately advertised as well

Will you be staying whole time in Turku only? Could you as well visit Helsinki too?

It is a shame that I cannot attend Turkkusex, but I hope to see you some other time. Even though my main area of interest(s) is not pure Japanese bondage or even generally bondage (fun to do sometimes though, as part of play or show), I am always interested on professional information feed and certainly value arts.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Us Brits are inexcusably bad with languages. I'm always embarassed where ever I go by how good everyone's English is. My abilities are limited to a few words of French and, as I like to put it, enough Spanish to get myself in trouble but not enough to extricate myself

I think the plan is to arrive in Helsinki Sept 8 as we have shows on 9/10. I guess I will go back Mon 13 or so. Maleficent arranged it all and has friends in Helsinki, which is why I'm a bit vague about it. I've been told that I'll have the facility to put on workshops but, again, don't know more than that yet.
